The String Theory is a creative content studio located next to the Highline in Chelsea, NYC. We specialize in all manner of design and branding in motion, from Advertising, Film Titles, Television Shows and Network Identities, Music Videos and Entertainment, to large scale Video Walls, Installations and Experiential Video Spaces.

With decades of experience, The String Theory boasts a diverse client list that has taken us from broadcast to Broadway, soft drinks to startups, and credit cards to car spots. But these projects, artists, campaigns, jumbo screens and world tours are not the crux of who we are and what we do. Sure we do jobs big and small. Sure we hit deadlines... fast and furious. But we pride ourselves in asking questions. Who is watching this? What will their experience be? How will they connect? How will they remember this? In short, we always try to ask ourselves:

"What's The Big Idea, Here?"

It is our belief that any big idea usually comes from paper. Or a sketch. Or a sticky-note. From those humble beginnings, we develop ideas into styleboards. Or written treatments. Or both. Sometimes they are broad creative strokes. Sometimes they are detailed down to the pixel.

The String Theory loves a good "Big Idea." It's a big reason why we do what we do, and it's the reason we do it well.

The String Theory's founder, John Vondracek, is an award-winning Graphic Designer specializing in motion graphics, title design, and identity, recognized by the AIGA, Art Directors' Club, Type Directors' Club, and I.D. Magazine. His TV shows have won Emmys, while films have been selections to the Sundance and Tribeca Film Festivals, as well as theatrical releases. He has taught Design In Motion for the past 17 years at NYC's Cooper Union, from which he is also a graduate.
